Though PK Cards can be played by any number of players, the basic game sets you against a single opponent.

A game of PK Cards is played in a series of battles, each comprised of seven sorties. The victor of each battle gains at least one prestige. The object of the game is to gain seven prestige before your opponent is able to do the same.

Sequence of Play

All players start the game with four karma and zero prestige.

All players reveal their avatars, turning them face-up and placing them in front of the player. If you are using the game mat that accompanies each core deck, you may place your avatar in the center of the ring of suits.

All players place their shuffled deck face-down to their right. Opponents may cut each others’ decks if they desire.

Two players may play using one core deck. Each player chooses one avatar. They both draw cards from the same deck and discard to the same discard pile.

Battles and Sorties

Flip a coin or roll a die to determine the order of play for the first battle. In subsequent battles, first play rotates clockwise around the table.

Each battle consists of seven sorties and a scoring stage. Each sortie consists of a draw stage (which may include a rally stage), a turn for each player, conflict and aftermath.
